Song Off Challenge, Bring it!

Have I ever mentioned that I adore things like this that get bloggers talking to one another and just having fun?? Well, if I haven’t I think these things are awesome!!

First and foremost, a nice big shout out to Working Mum for the challenge! Her blog always makes me smile and is a great mix between informative and inspirational content. I highly recommend giving her a visit!

My answers are down below in purple italics!

The Rules:

  • It starts with three types of genres/styles.
  • What song beats the nominators choice?  Doesn’t matter if its a cover, its about performance, lyrics and feeling the groove! Name it!
  • Nominate 3 fellow bloggers (let them know you’ve challenged them).
  • Add the previous song choice so that bloggers can see how it compares to what you’ve picked to beat it
  • Add a fourth genre to the mix (the idea is that the nominee picks three out of the 4 genres to song-off with you) adding to the variety.

Genre 1: Love Song

Bertie Higgins / Casablanca

I have such eccentric taste in music ranging from metal to pop to EDM to country. The first love song though that comes to mind as my favorite though is Greatest Love Story by LANCO

Genre 2: Grunge

Nirvana: The Man Who Sold The World

Beat it! Teen spirit isn’t going to top this!

Ok so technically Working Mum didn’t have a nomination for the Grunge category but the one genre I don’t have anything on is Soul which was the fourth genre she listed when I was nominated! My choice to beat this particular Nirvana song is Halestorm’s cover of Hunger Strike originally performed by Temple of the Dog.

Genre 3: Empowered

This one I would go with R. Kelly / I believe I can Fly. My son introduced this song to me months ago and it became one of our favorites. I am so glad finally I chose a younger song. 😉

This was a hard one! Eventually I chose one of my favorite “girl power” songs if you want to call it that. I can’t resist singing along! Rachel Platten’s Fight Song!

Extra Genre: Classic

Vivaldi / Spring – Four Seasons

This is not a challenge per se… just to welcome the late spring really.

This is a really strong contender! I don’t think I know enough classical music to compete! Here is my try – Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata

Bonus Genre: Soundtrack

Ed Sheeran – I See Fire (Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug)

Let’s see if you can beat that! 😉

Share what songs you think beat mine in the comments too! There is never too much music in the world.

Alright, now for the lovely bloggers I am inviting to the ring!

My Little Wonderland

Crazy Lady in My Head

Yes More Blogs

Such a fun little thing to post! 🙂
